Yacht America Visits America’s Hometown

As the Yacht America started her journey south from Maine, her wanted to visit as many yacht clubs to achieve her mission: get people excited about sailing and educate sailors about the America’s Cup. The Yacht America and her crew were thrilled to get a call from Mary Shields. She asked Captain Troy Sears if he would bring the Yacht America to Plymouth, America’s Hometown. He was very happy to oblige. The event not only promoted sailing, but it was also for a good cause. Part of the proceeds went towards restoring the Mayflower II. We look forward to the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower voyage in 2020.
