It was our pleasure to have a group of 25 NATO officials spend a few evening hours sailing with us last Tuesday. They dined at ‘Il Fornio’ restaurant on Coronado before boarding the famous yacht ‘America’ for a sail complete with dessert and after-dinner cocktails. The ‘America’ met them at Peohe’s Restaurant dock on Coronado.

The Glorietta Bay Marina is a very easy walk for guests staying at the Hotel Del Coronado and on Friday we had yet another group of 77 guests make the short walk to the waiting yacht ‘America’, at the dock with food and drinks ready for a great sail through the bay and ocean’s edge….

Not often the words team-building come into play when teens are involved but today we helped bond a religious group of Dads and kids down from Los Angeles. They went out racing……hands-on of course on Stars & Stripes and Abracadabra, all taking turns at helping to operate these big yachts.

whale watching san diego There she blows, our guest Brian Pinckney captures today’s grey whale just as we entered San Diego Bay. 

I decided not to post a picture of the whale. I have sent the photos to a federal marine biologist to see if we can confirm that the fin whale was hit by a ship.  I will report back.
