San Diego Whale Watching: December 30th, 2018
Have you been whale watching with us yet? With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, you might consider getting out on the water. Seeing a whale is so exciting! It is also really relaxing to get out on the open ocean, a few miles off shore, and just take a few deep breaths. With the wind in your hair and the sun on your back, sailing aboard the Yacht America provides immediate stress relief. It also might give you time to reflect on the year, and talk about your highlights with friends and family.
This year is quickly coming to a close, and what a great year is has been for us here at Next Level Sailing. Why? Community. Despite being a pretty large city, the community of San Diego has the heart of a small town. Everyone lends a helping hand to their fellow neighbor. The captain and crew of the Yacht America are known to volunteer in their own time, so when the company was asked to Make Strides Against Breast Cancer, it was a no-brainer. We love our San Diego community, so any way to give back is a great idea. Working with our friends at the American Cancer Society and Cabrillo Credit Union, we hoisted a bright pink mainsail to raise awareness for breast cancer. For the entire month of October, we sailed with this beautiful pink sail and raised money for research and grants.
Giving back to the community in such a big way was really a highlight for us. We hope that our efforts will help put an end to breast cancer forever. Let’s see what discoveries research in medicine can bring!
Wait, did we see a whale during today’s trips? Of course we did! Beautiful southbound gray whale:
See you tomorrow!
