30th Annual America’s Schooner Cup Program
History of the Schooner | April 5th
Dr. Ray Ashley will present “History of the Schooner” at 7:30 PM on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Silver Gate Yacht Club. This lecture commemorates 30 years of living history on San Diego Bay with the America’s Schooner Cup. All proceeds from the America’s Schooner Cup proudly support the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society in San Diego.
Dr. Ashley holds a BA in Anthropology, a MA in Maritime History and a PhD in History and has been the Executive Director of the Maritime Museum of San Diego since 1995. Dr. Ashley has sailed thousands of miles in ship ranging from 25’ sailboats to tall ships and oceanographic vessels.
