4th of July – Sail and Fireworks

  • Date: July 4th
  • Duration: 4 hours (6:00 pm – 10:00 pm)

Set sail aboard the luxurious historical racing Yacht America for the ultimate July 4th celebration! The Yacht America is the only vessel to serve on both sides of the Civil War. Named the first USS America, this racing yacht is not only an iconic racing vessel, it is an iconic American symbol representing the country’s tenacity.

Details
Your journey will start off with a gorgeous sunset sail in the San Diego Bay where you will have the opportunity to hoist 6,000 square feet of sails. This magnificent vessel will then parade towards downtown San Diego, displaying the largest American flag in the county, boasting 2,000 square feet. This American flag will be proudly displayed in front of 200,000 people lined up on San Diego Bay Waterfront in anticipation for the world famous Big Bay Boom fireworks extravaganza. Enjoy a quintessential 4th of July dinner as the American flag is lowered at sunset before the USS Midway. After dessert, the Yacht America will navigate to a premium location directly under the Big Bay Boom fireworks extravaganza. After the show, the Yacht America will return to our home dock at 2050 Shelter Island Drive.

Tips & Guidelines

COVID Protocols

Everyone will be required to wear a mask in order to enter the marina. Everyone will be assigned a designated area aboard the yacht America. These protocols are subject to change based on state regulations.

Clothing
We recommend dressing warmly and in layers as the air is always cooler on the water and conditions can change hour to hour. You can always shed layers as necessary. We do provide blankets for guests that may become cold.  Closed toed shoes and windbreakers are a good idea.  Watch the forecast and bring a rain jacket if necessary.

Tips
Our crew works very hard to ensure your trip is a great experience. If you’d like to share a gratuity, please catch any of the crew as you depart.

Merchandise
If you would like to purchase a shirt or a hat during the trip, just ask a crew member and they would be happy to assist.
